City Life/Vida Urbana is proof that local residents, when active and organized, can significantly improve their own lives. Created in the Jamaica Plain neighborhood of Boston in 1973 by political activists influenced by the civil rights, feminist, and anti-Vietnam War movements, City Life/Vida Urbana's successful strikes and eviction blockings quickly made the organization visible with tenants, landlords, urban planners, and public officials.

Community Rally - Stand with Chuck Tuesday, December 9 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Roxbury Community College Cafeteria, RCC Student Center (Orange Line T – Roxbury Crossing) Chuck Turner has been there for the people of Roxbury, as well as the city, the state and the nation for four and a half decades. He has fought for ever issue important to the community, and resisted every form of discrimination against his constituents. He has been a leader in fighting for community jobs for residents, and for CORI reform.
