The Museum of Science and Northeastern University present a Forum on Alternative Energy and Nanotechnology.
Climate change concerns, rising energy costs, and dwindling natural resources are causing people everywhere to think harder about the relationship between human activity and our environment. The emerging and exciting field of nanotechnology presents great promise to address these issues, but carries a great deal of uncertainty…and perhaps its own environmental risks.
In this forum, you and other participants will become the decision makers, as you weigh the possible environmental benefits of nanotechnology against its potential pitfalls. Should the bulk of research funding be dedicated to the implementation of existing technologies and to conservation, or should more efforts be dedicated to designing new nanotechnologies that might be of greater long-term impact?
Thursday, April 3
7:00 - 9:00 p.m.
Dodge Hall at Northeastern University
Refreshments will be served from 6:30 until 7:00; the forum will begin promptly at 7:00.
