Congratulations to Roxbury Environmental Empowerment Project (REEP) Youth Organizers Andreya Jones and Ronneshia Bolden for their recent high school graduations!
Andreya joined REEP last summer and attended University High School. During her time with ACE, Andreya played a vital role in the anti-idling campaign and advocated for the new diesel bill.
Ronneshia graduated on June 9 from Tech Boston Academy and has been with REEP since she was 14. Her work has ranged from cleaning up diesel pollution to preventing youth violence by providing more city and state funding for youth jobs and programming.
Said Ronneshia, "The most valuable thing I’ve learned from REEP is to be myself and to commit myself to things I care about. I meet new people almost every day and that helps build my character and confidence."
"What I like the most about REEP is the opportunity to work other youth to affect positive change," she continued. This fall Ronneshia will attend Pine Manor College where she plans to study psychology.
Everyone in the ACE family has loved seeing Andreya and Ronneshia grow as leaders. Thank you, ACE members, for helping to make their time at REEP possible. Congratulations again to these two wonderful youth organizers!
