This year, join the New England Environmental Justice Forum and environmental justice advocates from across New England for a series of five webinars covering various EJ topics. These webinars are a way for us to stay connected and learn about the work of other EJ groups in the region between in-person gatherings.
The series will address issues like climate adaptation, energy justice, vacant lots and contaminated land, and developing state and local EJ policies. The idea for webinars came from participants at last year's New England EJ Summit who wanted to stay in touch with people in the region to continue collaborating and learning from each other's work.
Our first webinar is on Wednesday, May 1, from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m. on climate adaptation: Creating Resilient Communities in the face of a changing climate, featuring Odin Tidemand and the Reverend Bob Murphy of the Falmouth Clergy Association on Cape Cod, MA, and Mike Roles and Aanchal Saraf, members of the Environmental Justice League of Rhode Island in Providence, RI. Our speakers will discuss how organizations on Cape Cod are meeting to the needs of vulnerable groups who have dealt with power failures and damaging storms.
Join the online presentation and call 866-299-3188 with the code 617-918-1797 to hear the discussion. You can also participate by phone or online presentation only. Come to ACE to participate if you don't have access to a phone or computer. We are also looking for folks to help on the planning committee for our next gathering in the summer or fall.
